That is very thoughtful of you, Darlene. Thank you for letting my know. A few days ago we had a rare hard freeze that appears to have killed nearly every plant and tree in my landscape except, oddly enough, for three potted hibiscus setting beneath an eave overhang.

Back in November I requested help for my unhappy hibiscus and received suggestions from many sources. I just want to report that your suggestion as quoted below:
You might consider pruning a few of the buds off before nature does it for you. That way, the ones you save may thrive on the energy that would have been consumed on those you pruned.
produced the results that turned the plant around and now I have at least one new bloom every other day.
