I would like a list of herbs and vegetable plants that would be conducive for growth in the dry desert climate of the west side of Tucson. I want to plant in container pots herbs and vegetables that would grow in the morning sun, shaded from the western afternoon sun. I have a ramada area which could be used for climbing plants and would also keep the javelina (sp?) away. Any ideas of what type of plants, soil, and planting season that would work? Should I purchase prestarted plants or start from seed? Any support for this season's growing success would be appreciated. Thank you! Cathy
