Hello folks.
 
Can you offer me any suggestions on Planting Italian Cypress here in Ajo, west of Tucson, in the AZ Sonoran Desert? I am about to go to great expense to bring in a small back hoe for digging a trench in soil that I hear isn't really that great and may have hardpan and want good success with the trees. I would also appreciate any advice as to sub species. My goal is for privacy tight up against a fenceline, where a neighbor has built a carport right up to the property line. I also want this variety of tree that will in time, grow tall and healthy to provide a late afternoon summer shade in that seasonal vector.  
 
Hope you may spare a few minutes to help me. Any references would be appreciated.
