I have two questions - 1) My mother's front yard is mostly dead grass and weeds!  What is the best way of getting rid of the bermuda grass and weeds to put in a desert landscape.  I would like to replace with stone and than plant some desert shrubs and a tree or two.  2) At my home I have 20+ year old Juniper bushes that I annually trim slightly.  They are at least 5 feet tall and I would like to cut them back to 3 feet or slightly less.  Is this advisable and if so, when would be the best time.  If they are cut back, will they fill back in again?
