[Arid_gardener] prickly pear cactus "fungus"

I read your response to a question regarding fungus on prickly pear cactus and how to get rid of it or treat it. Is this white growth sticky? This is what I have on my plant. I used your method of treatment in hopes of getting it off of my plant.
