[Arid_gardener] fungal mat

Dick,
That stuff does look remarkably like spittle-bug froth, but it's actually a
fungal mat, one that I find with some frequency on decaying organic matter
in my landscape, usually after a good bit of moisture. I had some show up a
few days ago after a light shower. It's really harmless and will
disintegrate after it dries.
