We have an Argentine Giant Cactus in our rear yard that was planted in May
2004. Our property is a true east/west exposure with the western exposure
on our rear yard. The cactus had been growing well and it had flowered this
year. Approximately 2 weeks ago, the long arm of the cactus broke
completely off. I found it lying on the ground near the plant one morning.
We have a drip system and the cactus plants in our garden are being watered
twice a month.

My first question is why did the large arm break off?

The plant is now turning yellow. Is that caused by sunburn?

How should I be caring for the plant?
