[Arid_gardener] weeping lesions on grapfruit trees.

we have a couple of grapefruit in our backyard that have numerous lesions aprox. 2 inches long like they have been cut with a knife, from which a clear to yellow sapy substance is excruding.  the leaves appear to have yellow areas.  the fruit is find but of low yield.   these are older well established trees. can we cure this problem, can you advise what can  be done?
