Actually, I recall reading that the Brazilian Pepper tree does yield
pink peppercorns that when dried and ground can be used as a spice with
a taste similar to black pepper ... amz

I grew Braizilian Pepper trees in San Diego but, in 50 years residing in
Southern California where they thrive, I never heard of humans or
animals eating the berry or the foliage.
