We would like to plant a native desert shade tree but the problem is that it would be fairly close to our large air conditioning unit that is constantly blowing hot air all around it. Is there a heat tolerant, drought resistant tree out there that we could plant? We're also concerned about the tree (as it grows) trapping the air that is supposed to circulate above and around the air conditioning unit. Is there an answer to our dilemma? Thanks for any help.
