[Arid_gardener] white film on gazanias

This might be a mildew, such as powdery mildew:

You should take a sample to your local Cooperative Extension office
for a positive ID (check the "County" pages in the blue section of your
phone book).

In any case, you might try to increase air circulation in and around the
plants and avoid overhead sprinkling and see if that helps.
