What is the dark gray insect, about 1/2 inch long, that sits on tree twigs
and rapidly moves around to the opposite side of the twig as a human
approaches? Their head is shaped somewhat like a shovel, i.e., the nose
appears blunt. I have seen them often on citrus trees and now on a Hong
Kong orchid. Are they harmless?
