I have 6 elderica pines in my backyard that have been there for approximately 15-20 years. Recently, the needles on one have turned brown and the tree is dead. Now it appears one of the others is beginning to do the same thing.

The needles appear to start turning brown at the top and move down. The affected trees are not directly adjacent, are on a bubbler system and are watered every 1-2 weeks. I have never applied any fertilizer to these trees (should have?). There doesn't appear to be visible evidence of pests or disease. Any help would be appreciated.
