Gayle, you might get a better answer from your local retail Nursery, a 
source for such information I have found to be quite reliable. They can't 
really market plants that don't have a reasonable chance of surviving a 
typical Salt River Basin winter. No one, however--in my opinion, can 
accurately predict an unusual cold snap but it is not difficult to be ready 
in the event that it happens in your locality. I can remember a day in the 
70s when everything in my yard froze to the ground. I learned after that to 
prepare ahead of time and pay close attention to the weather man.
