I personally believe any bamboo with water will do okay in the Salt River Basin in full sun but I would advise you to get a clumping variety unless you have a lot of room or unless you want to get even with the neighbors. Kidding, but the running variety will try to take over the area unless you have carefully coraled it with an impervious barrier of 1/4th inch plastic or something similar. Bamboo runners won't cross dry land, for whatever that tidbit is worth to you.
