Recommended last date for planting summer squash (like zucchini and
spaghetti) in Tucson is July 31. Summer squash is a fast-growing, warm
season crop and direct seeding would only trail seeds started indoors by a
few weeks.

See the Master Gardener "VEGETABLE GARDEN: VEGETABLE PLANTING GUIDE AND
RECOMMENDED PLANTING DATES, Region 2", 1000-2000 feet Elevation at

Winter squash can be planted into early August. For tips on growing winter

Although I keep trying, I've never been successful with any type of squash
here in Tucson. ... any chance that I might be able to still get some
zucchini and spaghetti squash to produce this fall. The spaghetti squash
was started from seed indoors and is currently about 5 inches tall. exposure
& soil type would give me the best chance of success?
