We purchased what we thought was a purple prickly pear cactus, but it's not
purple. If it is a purple prickly pear cactus, will it get purple with age?
or should it be purple now?
ANSWER:
Mary Catherine,
The Purple Prickly Pear gets more purple during times of drought or in cold
weather. My guess is that yours is probably being watered too much, back off
on the watering and hope that some day the weather will get cool again and
you plant will live up to it's name!
