My homeowners association will not prune our Mexican Fan Palm Trees until the seeds have dropped from their pods. We have several common area palms that back-up to my property, therefore, in the spring, my yard & pool/spa areas are littered with debris. This year the mess was so bad, it burned out my pool pump & needed to be replaced, an expense I shouldn't have had since the pump was only a few years old. My question is, can the palm trees be trimmed in the spring once the pods appear, before they open & displace seeds all over? My association said they would trim before the pods opened if I could find that this is okay without damaging the trees. What is the earliest time Mexican Fans can be pruned & is it necessary for the seeds to drop before pruning? Any other information on Mexican Fans would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time & assistance. Respectfully, Victoria
