The best method in is to simply pull it out. Wear gloves to keep the white
sap off your hands. There are herbicides specific to broadleaf plants and
will not kill grass. Ask at a nursery. But if there are tree roots under
the turf, the herbicides and soak into the soil and damage the tree. Fine
spray particles can also vaporize and be suspended in the air for a period
and drift to other plants and damage those plants - worse if there is a
breeze.
