Hello! I live in Wickenburg, and have a natural desert landscape. In the past couple of years, I've noticed a growing number of 1/2" (full grown) red and black beetle-ish insects. They seem to do something to our Desert Marigolds, which results in the seed heads turning reddish and not seeming to form healthy seed. The bugs also sometimes glue the petals together, either over or under the seedhead, which appears to change the normal development, too. Does anyone know anything about these insects? Do I need to be worried about them (I already am!)?

Thank you for any information that you can provide.
