Hi to all,
I have a cactus outside in a big clay pot. I've had it for at least seven or eight years. I don't know what kind it is, but it reminds me of a prickly pear cactus, but on a much smaller of a "pad" scale. I know at times it looks wilted because it gets shady during the afternoon where it's at and it's probably reaching for light. Though, there are times when it looks wilted that it needs water. It looked that way this past Saturday and it had been a few weeks since I watered. With the weather warming up, I went ahead and watered it. Normally by the end of the day, it would perk up, but it hasn't. Then I noticed that it is going to get flowers on it. There's 11 buds that I can see. Like I said, I have had it for quite sometime. What could be the reason that it still looks wilted? Is it because it's going to flower? And, last of all, why would it flower after all these years? I'm not doing anything different. Though, I am excited about the flowers and can't
wait to see what they look like. I have another cactus that when it flowers, it gets huge pink blooms that last for a day.
Take care and have a great day.
Ellen
