    It's much too late for winter annuals (wildflowers that bloom in the
spring), but we're approaching the ideal time for sowing summer annuals,
such as Desert Poppy and grasses like Sixweek Threeawn, Sixweek Grama,
Needle Grama, and Fluffgrass which serve to maintain soil fertility through
the summer.  Some winter annuals need to be in the ground through the summer
so that they are exposed to soil temperatures of 50C or more, which is part
of their germination cycle.
