Ask your nurseryman for a folliar spray that, when eaten, gives the varmint 
a fatal case of diarrhea. I used the safe chemical years ago but haven't 
seen a grasshopper in my garden for a long time. It works on many other 
insects and worms, too. I believe the word Safer is part of the name.
