Hi,
Stumbled upon your site while looking for advice on trimming Lady Banks. Ours were straddling the wall between us and a neighbor for years, then they had their guys chop off their side. Not good. Anyway, they got pretty woody below from too much shade below the canopy, so I have decided to pare them way back, make a decent espalier, and not let them get out of control (ha-ha) again.
Do you know if I should just take them all the way down to the ground and let the roots do their thing nourishing a new plant...... or what? If you have no answer, can you refer someone that might?
Thanks,
Jeff
