Bill, I'm not a master gardener, and I don't have an answer to the first 
part of your question, but I beg you (please!) do _not_ use insecticide on 
these bees. As you've probably read, there is a huge problem with bees 
lately -- they are dying, they are disappearing, they are not returning to 
their hives. And we all need bees very much to pollinate our foods and our 
other plants. I'm sure there's a safe way (for you and the bees) to move 
them away from your home without killing them. I hope you'll consider other
