On March 17th I will be picking up a 40" Saguaro from a nursery here in
Tucson to plant in front of my entranceway to the house to match a 44"
Saguaro I planted there 16 years ago. I have a pickup truck with a cap over
the bed. Would it really be beneficial to leave it lay in the pickup wrapped
in a rug for about a week or so after putting powdered sulfur on the roots?
Also, would it be a good idea to stake the cactus on two sides since it
looks top heavy and it gets quite windy out here at times? We are 35 miles
outside of Tucson. I am attaching a pix of the existing Saguaro across from
which I want to plant the new one.
