To all of you, thanks for the suggestions and comments.

Nursery confirms that they sold us a Wonderful so it SHOULD give us  
those ruby-red seeds!

I am working on a way to adjust the watering: will put a new head on  
the bubbler with drip line extensions, this way can lead water to the  
plants that really need it while restricting that going to the tree.   
Of course some will seep into the ground and pom may drink that but  
it can't be helped!

Having fertilized at the start of the season that's done for the time  
being, but I'll try the suggested 21-0-0 formula next time.

Let's see if this summer we have more luck - the tree is already  
laden with fruits and our mouths are watering.
