I am trying to bring back my tiff lawn which I neglected the past few years.  It's coming back quite well, but I have read about something called "top dressing".  The site I saw it on said to use 3 parts sand, 3 parts loam, and 1 part peat and to evenly spread it on the lawn in the Fall.  My question is, are these the right ingredients and mix for Maricopa County and if done in the Fall, should it be done before or after the grass goes dormant?  Thanks for your help.
