My jacaranda tree suffered bark blight in one of the winter freezes. A landscaper suggested removing the main trunk(s), about 3 feet above the ground. There is some new growth coming back at the bottom and on another stalk. I could not afford the price quoted, but have some friends who will help do it. What is the correct way to proceed so that the tree will eventually "come back"?
