Take a sample to one of the testing labs listed at
http://cals.arizona.edu/pubs/garden/az1111.pdf
But call first for recommendations about how to take the sample(s).
Our normal desert soil, if there are no unusual conditions, will test around
pH 8, low for Nitrogen, low for Carbon, have some Phosphorus, lots of
Potassium and Calcium, and aqeuate amounts of micronutrients.
