nanni,
Unless you have a good reason to prune your grapefruit tree, such as it
overhangs your driveway, etc., it is best not to prune it. Make sure that any
exposed bark is protected from sun burn by a coat of light colored paint. Any
thinned down water based paint will work fine.

I have a grapefruit tree that's about 9-10 years old. It has been bearing
50-60 fruits per year for the last couple of years. Should it be pruned or
should I just leave it alone? If it should be pruned, how best to do so without
hurting the tree? Thanks.
