Message-ID: <7.0.1.0.2.20061208101134.02aa09f8@cals.arizona.edu> All, Agent Position I am excited to announce that Terry Mikel will be acting as the Urban Horticulture Agent until a permanent agent is hired in July 2007. Terry is no stranger to the program as he has been involved for many years as Educator, Supporter, Adviser and Resource. Many of us fondly remember Intern Class with Terry's wholehearted love of the science of horticulture demonstrated by plants as cuisine, anecdotes to help understand the background of "why" and lively diagnostic sessions involving the entire class. Terry will be teaching the Intern class that begins January 16th, and we've made room for you to attend! If you would like to audit the class, please email me so we can include you. A syllabus of topics will be made available soon. Classes are from 9:00 - noon on Tuesdays from January 16th - May 8th at the Cooperative Extension Office. We are also still accepting applications if you know of someone who would benefit from the program and be a good Master Gardener! As Terry will not be receiving this email, let's surprise him with a huge flood of emails welcoming him in his new position. A personal email to tmikel@cals.arizona.edu will help him understand how important it is to us that he has taken on this additional responsibility (Terry will continue to act as the Commercial Horticulture Agent.) Speaker Opportunity Mesa Garden Club would like a speaker for 1/407 at 10:00 am on Pest ID. They meet at 56th Street & Main. Please contact Delair Ingram 480-986-6342 to set up the talk. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... ANNUAL REPORT Every year the Master Gardener Program reports on our successes as educators in the community. The 2006 report is due soon after the New Year. The Annual Report consists of the numbers behind the program; the number of visitors to each of the offices, the number of phone calls for the Horticulture Hotlines, etc. I invite all the Master Gardeners to send short, concise examples of how you see the Master Gardener Program impacting the Community. This will give a voice to the numbers to truly tell the story of the Master Gardeners in Maricopa County. Please email me your thoughts, as well as relate anything you have heard from the public in your duties as a Master Gardener in 2006. Thanks for all your help and all your support.
