Research activities are currently focused on studies of heat, water vapor and trace gas transport over irrigated land. These studies are intended to lead to improved understanding of the role of soil and plant factors in regulating the exchanges of heat momentum and mass between the earth and its atmosphere. Field techniques used in research to evaluate transport processes include eddy correlation, aerodynamic profile, chamber and micro-lysimeters.
