| Dr.
Kurt Nolte has been involved in agriculture for most of his life,
as his family is part of second-generation citrus growers from Southern
California. He holds two Bachelor Degrees from the University of
California: Soil Science, Plant Science. Kurt has a Master's Degree
in Botany and received his Ph.D. in Plant Molecular and Cellular
Biology from the University of Florida in 1993. After serving as
a postdoctoral fellow, also at the University of Florida, Kurt arrived
in Yuma, Arizona in 1997, serving as Chair of the Ag Science Department
of Arizona Western College. Recently, however, Kurt accepted a position
with the University of Arizona, Cooperative Extension where he serves
as the intermediary between research and the various arms within
the agricultural industry in Yuma County. Dr. Nolte conducts outreach
and extension activities in vegetable production for producers and
industry representatives within Southwest Arizona. Although his
primary interest lies in the integration of Advanced Ag Technologies
into vegetable production, Kurt works in a variety of areas which
assist growers in the production of the high-value crops in the
region. |
