| Allan
Simons received a Ph.D. in Agronomy and Plant Physiology at the University
of Minnesota. He also has a Master's degree in Agronomy and Plant
Physiology, which he received from the University of Maryland and
a Bachelor's degree in General Agriculture from Cornell University.
Here at the University of Arizona he manages the nonprofit Arizona
Crop Improvement Association (an affiliate of the CALS), which conducts
Arizona's official seed certification program and other third-party
quality assurance programs. He acts as the executive director of the
Arizona Grain Research and Promotion Council (1994 - present) and
is the treasurer of both the Seed Trade Association of Arizona and
the Arizona Forage Producers Association. He is also the president
of the Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies (2003-2005).
