M.S. Program Time Table
 
First Semester

Orientation Session
Meet with PAC - Draft an initial Departmental Provisional Work Plan
Start course work
Begin rotations

Second Semester

Continue course work
Schedule another rotation(s) if necessary
Fulfill teaching obligation
Select Major Advisor by the end of this semester
Form and meet with Advisory Committee to plan thesis work
Begin thesis work in earnest over summer

Third Semester

Submit the Plan of Study to Graduate Degree Certification (submit first to Forbes 319)
Continue course work and complete any remaining courses
Concentrate on thesis research
Begin planning for preparation of thesis

Fourth Semester

Conclude course work and concentrate on finishing up thesis work
Finish writing thesis and defend during the oral examination
