B. Crop Production Major

This undergraduate program provides a solid foundation for students who are entering a career in modern agriculture and crop production. It is also important to note that this degree program provides a good base for students interested in work associated with field crop, permanent tree crop production, turf grass culture and improvement, and/or a broad array of horticultural crops that are grown throughout the western United States and other regions in the world.

The goal of the Bachelor of Science program in the Department of Plant Sciences is to offer students exciting and stimulating intelectual challenges in all aspects of the study of plants. Through taking an active interest in each student, the Plant Science faculty strive to provide both scientific theory and practical application. We encourage students to seek employment within the department and to attend departmental seminars. Our curriculum provides an excellent background in both basic and applied aspects of plant biology. The program will give students the tools necessary to respond to the rapidly changing technologies of the workplace.
