I was born June 6, 1985 in Harvey, IL. My family moved to Mesa, AZ a year and a half later, where I was raised all through my childhood. My family still resides there. I came to the Gerba Lab in September of 2005 with a NASA Space Grant Internship. I will be graduating in May of 2007 with a B.S. in Microbiology, and am greatly considering grad school here. A Ph. D. is in my near future, though I am undecided as to what field of research it will be in. However, I am greatly considering a Ph. D. in Environmental Microbiology. I hope to one day work in a lab setting, with an organization that focuses on human health.

Project:

I am currently working with Dr. Kelley R. Bright on the disinfection of drinking water with UV kight and ozone. We are currently testing the effectiveness of UV/ozone against various pathogenic microorganisms as an alternative method to chlorine for the treatment of drinking water.
