Cheyenne Robinson Selected Arizona National Livestock Show Ambassador
Cheyenne Robinson of Cottonwood was recently selected to serve as the Arizona National Livestock Show Ambassador. She began her one year term in June. She is currently entering her senior year at the University of Arizona majoring in animal sciences with plans to attend veterinary school.
Robinson graduated in 2009 from Mingus Union High School where she was actively involved in the Mingus FFA Chapter. She served as the 2009-2010 Arizona Association FFA state vice president for the Black Canyon District. Robinson served as the 2010 Arizona Beef Ambassador for the Arizona State Cowbelle Association.
She is currently serving as an ambassador for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona, a member of the Collegiate Cattle Growers Association, Jacobs-Cline Society Member and the Society of Collegiate Scholars. While continuing to stay very active in extracurricular activities she also volunteers by mentoring novice livestock showmen.
Robinson's participation in the Show has included showing sheep, feeder steers and livestock judging. She has also volunteered in the Farm Experience, Judging Contest and the Open Cattle Shows. This past year she assisted the show veterinarian, which provided hands-on experience for her veterinary degree.
"The Arizona National Livestock Show has always been a tradition for me; it was like Christmas all over again when I showed," Robinson said, "and I want to help carry on this tradition."
Robinson will have the opportunity to serve as a spokesperson for the Arizona National Livestock Show this year, representing the Association at various county fairs, agriculture industry and community events. She will receive a $2,000 education scholarship as part of the Ambassador program.
