1997 SYMPOSIA TOPICS
| 1.
Scale Issues in Solute Transport Processes Solute transport processes such as advection, dispersion, transformation, retention and volatilization have been extensively studied at the scale of soil particles, soil aggregates, soil cores, field plots, across landscapes and hillslopes , and in aquifers and watersheds. The symposium will provide a forum for invited and oral papers and posters on the transferability of measurements and models at one scale to solute fate and transport predictions at smaller or larger scales. Volunteered papers and posters are requested on current research approaches to solute transport scaling issues. Papers and posters that focus entirely on the measurement or modeling of solute transport at only one scale are not appropriate, and will scheduled for presentation in other sections of the Anaheim meeting. Likewise, papers which focus entirely on scale issues for soil hydraulic properties are not appropriate for this symposium, which will focus specifically on solute transport processes.
