ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Water Services Department seeks a creative and energetic individual to collect and analyze data about residential and non-residential water demand and wastewater generation. This individual will also help customers seeking assistance to improve water use efficiency and to help develop and implement programs to increase water efficiency to prepare for potential shortage conditions. The position would be ideal for a person with a strong grasp of residential and non-residential water use technologies and practices.
SALARY
$49,338 - $73,653 annually.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Two years of experience in water demand management, water-use regulation, water-use information collection and analysis, and/or related field. A bachelor's degree in natural resources management, administration, economics, science, landscape architecture, communications or related field An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.

R&D internships are available in several chemistry, biology and computer science related disciplines, including (but not limited to) biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, microbiology, plant breeding, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, surface chemistry, engineering (chemical, biological, material, or optical), environmental sciences, agronomy, soil and water sciences, crop sciences and informatics (bio and chem). All R&D lab-based internships will be located at our global headquarters in Indianapolis, IN, and field internships will be located at any one of our 15+ field/breeding stations located throughout the US. This is a paid internship (salary is based on year completed in school and any relevant experience), expecting 40 hour/week work schedules for 10-12 weeks during the summer months. Housing is significantly subsidized and provided to any student whose permanent address is greater than 45 miles from our site. A large fertilizer company in Central America is seeking a Laboratory Manager for a soil testing and plant analysis laboratory. Prospective candidates must be fully proficient in Spanish and English and have a Ph.D. degree in soil chemistry/chemistry with proven strong analytical and managerial skills in a commercial setting. Candidates with an M.S. degree and substantial relevant practical experience in the field may be considered. In addition candidates must have proven proficiency in the following areas of expertise: Staff recruiting and selection, design of laboratory procedures, implementation of analytical methods for plant and soil samples, preparation of specifications, purchasing and installation of sophisticated analytical equipment (ICP-OES, ICP-AES, spectrometry, colorimetry, etc), understanding of automation processes and their implementation, management and implementation of fertilizer protocols, computer skills (WORD, EXCEL, data bases, programming). Knowledge of tropical soils, tropical agriculture and statistics is desirable.

Department Overview:
The Agricultural Science Department offers three Associates degrees and two certificates. The department prepares students for transfer and works closely with the University of Arizona Yuma on 2+2 programs available to agricultural science graduates. Faculty are involved in continuous assessment and engaged in expanding teaching methodologies and delivery systems to improve student retention and success.

The base pay listed is for a candidate with a Bachelors and only 9 months of employment. My best estimation for a person with a masters degree, working 10-months would be a base pay of $46,887. Of course, that is an estimation and it would be up to the candidate to negotiate and advocate for him or herself.
