Norton School Homecoming Awards and Scholarship Luncheon

On Friday, October 28th, 2016 we will be celebrating the 100th birthday of Norton School Emerita Faculty Dr. Amy Jean Knorr at our annual Homecoming Awards and Scholarship luncheon.

Dr. Knorr served on the Norton School faculty as a professor of Home Economics Education from 1970 to 1984, providing an exceptional educational experience to hundreds of students. Amy Jean has been a strong supporter of the Frances McClelland Institute since its inception.

US, State Teen Pregnancy Rates Trend Down, Remain High

Vivianna Pardini was 15 years old when she got pregnant. Three months into her pregnancy, she heard about Marana High School's Teenage Parent Program, or TAPP.

TAPP is a day care center tucked away in a corner of Marana High. It provides care to babies and toddlers when their teen parents, mainly moms, are in U.S. history and geometry classes. But it's far more than a day care facility. TAPP is where young people like Pardini learn how to be parents.

Tucson Village Farm Expands to the West Side of Campbell Avenue

Thanks to support from University of Arizona College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the hard work and dedication of community volunteers, interns and AmeriCorps members, Tucson Village Farm expanded its reach this summer to include additional infrastructure, acreage, outdoor classrooms and programming on the west side of Campbell Avenue in Tucson, Arizona.
