This plan outlines the range management and improvement work to be accomplished during the 1976 grazing season.

Permitted Numbers

Three hundred and sixty-two (362) head of cattle (295 V-V and 67 Sullivan) are permitted on the summer allotment for a period of June l through October 31. In addition to the numbers above, there are private land permits to cover seven (7) horses (V-V) and forty-eight (48) head of cattle (39 V-V and 9 Sullivan).

Movement of Cattle

Horse Knoll 6/1 - 7/15

Pine 7/15 - 9/30

Steer and Heifer 10/1 - 10/15

Snake Ridge 10/16 - 10/30

Cattle should be moved through the Steer and Heifer pastures as quickly as possible in the fall. All stock should be out of these pastures by 10/15 and out of Snake Ridge by 10/30.

Range Improvement Maintenance and Construction

1. In addition to annual minor maintenance of all improvements assigned to you, the following fences are slated for heavy maintenance:

a. Boundary fence #41 from the McVicker's road south and west to the south division fence between Heifer and Steer Units.

b. Boundary fence #2063 from northwest corner of Horse Knoll Unit east to Horse Knoll Tank.

2. Construction

Cooperate with Bar D in the reconstruction of approximately 2.6 miles of Boundary Fence 2063. Reconstruction starts where 1975 reconstruction ended and runs east to cattleguard on road 81B.

Salting

Salt shall not be placed on water. Areas of light use should be salted. Salt should be moved to coincide with increased use of an area.

Horses

All horses will be kept in the designated horse pastures until fall shipping. During Shipping horses may be kept where they are most convenient for use.

Fire

Controlled forest use may be necessary during the summer due to high fire danger. The permittee will be contacted if this action is necessary.

District Ranger

Permittee Date: 24 May 76

This generally fills the bill but will have to be wiggled depending on shipping date, etc. and have adequate time movement into steer from pine and steer to shipping. - WMS
