Annual Instruction 1981 Walker Basin (S) Allotment These instructions outline the range management and improvement work to be accomplished during the 1981 grazing season. I. Permitted Numbers and Rotation ScheduleWilliam Sullivan is permitted to graze 68 cattle and V-V Ranch permitted to graze 315 cattle from 6/1 - 10/31 on the Walker Basin Allotment. These cattle will be grazed as a single herd under the following rotation system: Horse Knoll 6/1 - 7/30 Pine 8/1 - 9/30 Steer and Heifer 10/1 - 10/15 Snake Ridge 10/16 - 10/30 This rotation schedule is flexible and may be altered if on the ground inspections indicate a need to lengthen or shorten the time in any unit. Entry and exit dates may vary 5 days from the scheduled dates; however, once the move is started it should be completed within 5 days. II. InspectionsThe following dates have been tentatively set when allotment inspections are to be conducted on the allotment: Horse Knoll Unit July 14 Pine Unit October 9 Steer and Heifer October 21 The permittee will be asked to assist in these inspections. He should attend if at all possible. III. Range Improvement MaintenanceAnnual maintenance will be required on all fences and other improvements assigned to you. All fences must be checked prior to entering the allotment. IV. SaltingIn order to obtain the best possible distribution and utilization the following salting practices will be followed:
V. FireFire protection is the responsibility of every grazing permittee. Protection will include taking all reasonable precautions to prevent, make diligent efforts to suppress and reporting promptly all fires on or endangering such land and property covered under your term permit.
