Annual Grazing Plan Walker Basin Allotment 1982 This plan outlines the range management and improvement work to be accomplished during the 1982 grazing season. Permitted Numbers and Grazing ScheduleThe permittees are permitted to graze 377 cattle from 6/1 - 10/31 on the Walker Basin Allotment. In addition, the permittees are authorized to graze 48 head of cattle under private land permits. All cattle will be grazed as a single herd under the following grazing system: Horse Knoll Unit 6/1 - 7/15 Snake Ridge Unit 6/1 - 7/15 Steer and Heifer Units 7/16 - 9/10 Pine Unit 9/11 - 10/15 Snake Ridge 10/16 - 10/31 This grazing schedule is flexible and may be altered if range inspections indicate a need to lengthen or shorten the time in any unit. Entry and exit dates may vary 5 days from the scheduled dates; however, once the move is started it should be completed within 5 days. InspectionsThe following range inspections are tentatively scheduled for 1982: July 2 Snake Ridge Unit August 31 Steer and Heifer Units October 4 Pine Unit The permittee is requested to assist in these inspections and should attend if at all possible. Range Improvement MaintenanceAnnual maintenance will be required on all fences and other improvements assigned to you. All fences must be checked prior to entering the allotment. FireFire protection is the responsibility of every grazing permittee. Protection will include taking all reasonable precautions to prevent, make diligent efforts to suppress and reporting promptly all fires on or endangering such land and property covered under your term permit.
