Allotment Management Plan Amendment Approval (S & W) United States Department of Agriculture Date: May 26, 1987 Reply to: 2210 To: District Ranger, Beaver Creek RD Returned approved with modification is your proposed Amendment No. 1 of the Walker Basin Allotment Management Plan. As the well will be utilized at the shipping facility and quite possibly as a future water source for pipelines to the lower elevations of the allotment, this improvement is to be carried as a Government- owned range improvement. The main access road to the shipping facility (9248K) is presently carried as a Level II travelway on the Forest transportation system. Once permittee Zink has brought this road up to the all-weather standard, let Bob Powell know and he will make the proper changes in the Plan. This road will continue to be a part of the transportation plan and not a special-use nor a range improvement. That segment of road from 9248K to the mobile home site, the septic tank and any related out buildings associated with residences are to be carried as a paid special-use. You are to proceed without further delay on preparation of the special-use permit. I want both the Beaver Creek and Long Valley Rangers to pursue, with tenacity, the possibility of exchanging the winter shipping facility and associated use area to the permittee for Bow Ribbon and/or Harris Park. At the time of culmination, commensurability for Walker Basin (winter) should be transferred to this tract. NEIL R. PAULSON Enclosure G.
