Watershed Issues:
  • Most lakes, including Apache, have high nutrient levels
  • Explosive population growth
  • Gila and Salt Rivers contain pesticides
  • Selenium and boron found in lower Gila River
  • Loss of stream baseflow and riparian habitat due to groundwater overdraft
Classes: Next class scheduled to start in July 2009 in Phoenix. Class will be offered at the Rio Salado Audubon Center, starting July 28th, 2009 from 9:00 – noon and runs through October.
