Outstanding Individual in a Youth Garden
Nomination Criteria


To nominate a Youth Garden Volunteer for this award please answer the following questions in a nomination letter (not to exceed 2 double spaced pages). Please include contact information for the individual that you are nominating. Also enclose 4 representative slides of the volunteer in their youth garden.

Tell us about this Volunteer's:
  • Ability to get along with others
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Leadership skills
  • Commitment/interest in the project
  • Length of time of personal involvement in project
  • Future plans/goals as they relate to youth gardening (if any).
Outstanding Youth Garden
Nomination Criteria


To nominate a Youth Garden for this award please answer the following questions in a nomination letter (not to exceed 2 double spaced pages). Please include the address/location of the garden and contact person/contact information for use if the Garden is selected as a winner. Also enclose 5 representative slides of the garden illustrating garden activities and layout.

Tell us about the Garden:
  • Provide a brief history of the Garden.
  • Who is involved in the Garden?
  • How is the Garden used as a learning space?
  • How many children/students utilize the Garden annually?
  • How is the Garden produce utilized?
  • How does the Garden interact with the larger community?
  • What types of gardens/habitats do you have?
  • Has the Garden received any grants or previous awards?
Outstanding Corporate/Public Agency in a Youth Garden
Nomination Criteria


To nominate a Corporate/Public Agency for this award please answer the following questions in a nomination letter (not to exceed 2 double spaced pages). Please include contact information for the Agency that you are nominating. Also enclose 4 representative slides of the garden supported by this corporate/public agency.

  • Personnel support (i.e., volunteers, employee participation incentives)
  • Administrative support (i.e., publishing of documents, grant writing)
  • Financial support (i.e., grants, in-kind services, office space, equipment)
  • Legislative support (i.e. policy development, advocacy).
Outstanding Southwest JMG Leader
Nomination Criteria


To nominate a JMG Leader for this award, please answer the following questions in a nomination letter (not to exceed 2 double spaced pages). Please include contact information for the individual that you are nominating. Also enclose 4 representative slides of the volunteer in their leadership role.
