Design a theme garden
When planning your youth gardening project, keep in mind that it helps to start small. Small successes keep your students and your school community involved and interested in maintaining the garden over time.

Theme gardens are a wonderful way to build success as well as add excitement to your gardening project, allowing everybody to broaden their concept of what a garden can be.

Look closely and you'll see the outline of a butterfly. This raised bed theme garden is being developed at Metro Tech in Phoenix and will be filled with plants attractive to butterflies and their offspring.
