Funding for after-school programs available through the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust announces its streamlined application process, new summary form and helpful tips for applying for grants. (The Piper Fund supports programs that enrich the after school experience of youth and adolescents.) Here are some highlights:

  • Nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for funding anytime throughout the year.
  • Announcement of grants will be made quarterly.
  • The Trust will consider only one application for funding each year and normally maintain only one active grant per organization. Simultaneous grants would be funded only on an exceptional basis.
  • The Trust is now requesting applicants to submit a summary form with their initial letter of inquiry. This form can be found at www.pipertrust.org in the Grant Making section under "How to Apply."

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust is committed to continuing Virginia G. Piper's legacy of making grants to nonprofit organizations whose work enhances the lives of people in Arizona, primarily in Maricopa County -- one of the nation's fastest growing counties with a population of more than 3,000,000 residents that includes the City of Phoenix. The Trust makes grants that continue Virginia Piper's decades of stewardship and commitment to improving the quality of life in Maricopa County through programs that support children, the elderly, arts and culture, healthcare and medical research, education and religious organizations.

Initially, the Trust will focus its support on programs that help families at three points in the life cycle when human vulnerability and opportunity are most acute: early childhood, adolescence and old age.
